The Speech of Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan during the Ceremony Devoted to the 19th Anniversary of the Formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia
Honorable Mr. President, Your Holiness, gentlemen generals and officers, dear guests, 2011 is an anniversary year for the Armenian nation. The 20th anniversary of the declaration of the Third Republic – the most important event of the newest period of our history – will be marked this year. It is significant that the first republican event of the year is held today - the 19th anniversary of the formation of the Armenian Army. It is a well known historical truth that independence is not given to nations, but is rather achieved through national struggles, and with the price of the blood of devoted heroes. The Third Armenian Republic was born under complicated historical-political conditions, when there was an evident war unleashed by the neighbor republic. The vanguards of this truly national struggle were the voluntary units formed by themselves, with the devoted selfless freedom fighters, many of whom gave their lives for the rebirth of our new state. The Armenian Army is a result of national love, devotion and sacrifices. And as an answer to this love, very well realizing its role, the Armenian soldiery accomplished and is continuing to accomplish its mission with honor, reliably defending the security of the Armenian borders and the peace of the people.

ԱվելինՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարար Ս. Օհանյանի ելույթը ՀՀ ԶՈՒ կազմավորման 19-րդ տարեդարձին նվիրված հանդիսավոր միջոցառման ժամանակ
Մեծարգո պարոն Նախագահ, Վեհափառ Տեր, պարոնայք գեներալներ և սպաներ, հարգելի հյուրեր 2011 թվականը հոբելյանական տարի է հայ ժողովրդի համար. հանդիսավորությամբ նշելու ենք մեր նորագույն պատմության կարևորագույն իրադարձության` հայոց նոր պետականության` Հայաստանի Երրորդ Հանրապետության հռչակման 20-ամյակը: Անչափ խորհրդանշական է, որ այս տարվա առաջին համապետական միջոցառումը տեղի է ունենում այսօր` Հայոց ազգային բանակի կազմավորման 19-րդ տարեդարձի օրը: Պատմական հայտնի ճշմարտություն է` ժողովուրդներին անկախությունը ոչ թե տրվում է, այլ այն նվաճում են համաժողովրդական պայքարի, նվիրյալ հերոսների արյան գնով: Հայաստանի երրորդ հանրապետությունը ծնվեց պատմաքաղաքական բարդ իրավիճակում հարևան հանրապետության կողմից սանձազերծված բացահայտ պատերազմի պայմաններում: Այդ հիրավի համաժողովրդական պայքարի առաջապահն ինքնաբուխ կազմավորված ինքնապաշտպանական կամավորական ջոկատներն էին` հայրենանվեր ու անձնազոհ ազատամարտիկներով, որոնցից շատերն իրենց կյանքը նվիրաբերեցին մեր նոր պետականության վերածննդի զոհասեղանին: Հայոց բանակը համազգային սիրո, նվիրումի և զոհողությունների արգասիքն է: Եվ ի պատասխան այդ սիրո`քաջ գիտակցելով իր դերը` հայ զինվորականությունը պատվով կատարել և շարունակում է իր առաքելությունը` հուսալիորեն պաշտպանելով հայոց սահմանների անվտանգությունը և ժողովրդի խաղաղությունը:

ԱվելինThe Visit of the First Deputy Minister of Defence of Georgia to Armenia
On January 24-25, 2011 the delegation headed by First Minister of Defence of Georgia Nodar Kharshiladze was in Armenia on a working trip. On 24 January a tête-à-tête conversation between First Deputy Minister of Defence of Armenia Davit Tonoyan and Mr. Kharshiladze took place. Then a meeting of the two delegations was held. During the meeting, the importance of the bilateral cooperation in spheres of military-education and peacekeeping was underlined, as well as the exchange of experience in the sphere of defence reforms that are in process in both countries.

ԱվելինՎրաստանի պաշտպանության նախարարի առաջին տեղակալի այցը Հայաստան
Ս.թ. հունվարի 24-ից 25-ը աշխատանքային այցով Հայաստանում էր գտնվում Վրաստանի պաշտպանության նախարարի առաջին տեղակալ Նոդար Խարշիլաձեի գլխավորած պատվիրակությունը: Հունվարի 24-ին կայացել է ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարարի առաջին տեղակալ Դ.Տոնոյանի և Ն.Խարշիլաձեի առանձնազրույցը, այնուհետև երկու պատվիրակությունների ընդլայնված կազմով հանդիպումը: Հանդիպման ընթացքում կարևորվել է երկկողմ համագործակցությունը ռազմական կրթության և խաղաղապահության բնագավառներում, ինչպես նաև փորձի փոխանակումը երկու երկրների զինված ուժերում իրականացվող պաշտպանական բարեփոխումների ոլորտում:

They discussed matters related to the Armenian-German cooperation in the defence sector. Mr. Ohanyan highly evaluated the level of defence cooperation with Germany, stating that the cooperation became especially active as a result of the mission of the Armenian peacekeeping unit under the command of the German peacekeeping forces.

<img width="250" height="160" align="left" src="/UserFiles/Image/press-rel-2010-01-25-b-2.jpg" alt=""/>ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարար Սեյրան Օհանյանն այսօր ընդունել է Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունում Գերմանիայի Դաշնային Հանրապետության արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Հանս-Շոհան Շմիթին: Քննարկվել են պաշտպանության ոլորտում հայ-գերմանական համագործակցությանն առնչվող հարցեր: ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարարը բարձր է գնահատել Գերմանիայի հետ պաշտպանության ոլորտում համագործակցության մակարդակը` նշելով, որ համագործակցությունը հատկապես աշխուժացել է` Աֆղանստանում գերմանական խաղաղապահ ուժերի հրամանատարության ներքո հայկական խաղաղապահ զորախմբի առաքելության արդյունքում:
