An instructor training course was held at the Vazgen Sargsyan Military Academy
From June 29 to July 22, an instructor training course was held at the Vazgen Sargsyan Military Academy of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia with the participation of the British military advisory training team for instructors of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia. The goal of the course was to introduce the participants to the role and importance of an instructor, teaching methodology, teaching modern instructor skills, etc. During the course, the participants passed practical and theoretical tests, as a result of which a number of servicemen received instructor qualification certificates.

ԱվելինAshot Zakaryan received at the Military Police a delegation led by the Head of the Military Police Department of the Defence Forces of Georgia
On July 21, the Head of the Military Police of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, Major General Ashot Zakaryan, received at the Military Police a delegation led by the Head of the Military Police Department of the Defence Forces of Georgia, Major General Shalva Shengelia, who is on a three-day visit to Armenia to exchange experience and develop cooperation in the field of military police. During the meeting, reaffirming the agreements reached in October of last year, the parties presented the structure, functions and characteristics of their units, discussed the possibilities of expanding cooperation, exchanging experience and strengthening partnership relations. Then, the members of the delegation toured the territory of the Military Police. At the end of the tour, the heads of the two structures planted a fir tree together in the “Yeghevnineri Park” (Fir Trees Park) as a symbol of continuous cooperation and friendship between the military police of Armenia and Georgia.

Since July 20, the Vazgen Sargsyan Military Academy and the National Defence Research University of the Ministry of Defence have joined the large family of the European Security and Defence College as associate partners of the institution. Based on the proposal of the Executive Academic Board of the European Security and Defence College of June 11, the College’s Steering Committee unanimously approved the candidacies of the Vazgen Sargsyan Military Academy and the National Defence Research University of the Ministry of Defence on July 3, granting the College the status of associate partner. The issue was then submitted to the European Union Member States for approval through a silence procedure.

On June 25, the closing ceremony of the “Eagle Partner 2026” military exercise took place at the “Zar” training center. The leadership of the exercise thanked the personnel for effective cooperation, high professional training, successful conduct of the exercises and exchange of experience. A personnel award ceremony was held as part of the closing ceremony. The goal of the “Eagle Partner 2026” military exercise, held in Armenia from June 17-25, was to increase the level of cooperation between participating units during the implementation of international peacekeeping missions, improve the organization of joint operations and strengthening cooperation between partner countries.

On June 23, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan, together with First Deputy Minister of Defence, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Edvard Asryan, US Chargé d'Affaires, to the Republic of Armenia a. i., David Allen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to the Republic of Armenia Olivier Decottignies, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Greece to the Republic of Armenia Christos Sofianopoulos, Brigadier General Jason Knobby, Chief of Staff of the Kansas National Guard, Colonel Paul Courtiau, Chief of Staff of Land Operations in Europe, and high-ranking military personnel and foreign military attaches and representatives accredited in Armenia, observed the progress of the "Eagle Partner 2026" military exercise, which is being held within the framework of preparation for participation in international peacekeeping missions, at the "Zar" training center. The exercise involves servicemen from the Peacekeeping Brigade of the Armed Forces of Armenia, the Kansas National Guard, the Armed Forces of France and Greece. The guests observed the practical phase of the exercise, got acquainted with the exercises being carried out and the activities of the units involved in the preparation for international peacekeeping missions. Then, the leadership of the exercise presented the work carried out, the training objectives, and the recorded results to Defence Minister Suren Papikyan and the guests. Within the framework of the “Eagle Partner 2026” exercise, special attention was paid to improving the professional skills required during international peacekeeping missions, increasing the interoperability of units and developing the ability to respond quickly and effectively in various situations.

On June 17, at the administrative complex of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, First Deputy Minister of Defence, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, Lieutenant General Edvard Asryan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Armenia Claudia Busch. Within the framework of the visit, Ambassador Claudia Busch, on behalf of the Federal Government of Germany, handed over 16 snowmobiles to the Ministry of Defence for the purpose of modernizing technical means and developing capabilities of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia. The Ambassador noted that Armenia and Germany are connected by close relations. He particularly emphasized that since 2025, bilateral relations have been strengthened by the Strategic Partnership Agenda, which was signed by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and the Federal Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz. The snowmobiles will be used in high mountain conditions for the transportation of personnel and small, light loads.With the support of experts from Germany, the personnel of the Armenian Armed Forces are currently undergoing training in the operation of snowmobiles.

In the frameworks of preparations for participation in international peacekeeping missions, the launch of the “Eagle Partner-2026” military exercise was announced on June 17 at the “Zar” training center. The servicemen involved in the exercise were welcomed by the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, Major General Artur Yeroyan. The national anthems of Armenia, the United States, France and Greece, as well as the anthem of the “Eagle Partner” military exercise were played. The exercise involves servicemen from the Armed Forces Peacekeeping Brigade of the Republic of Armenia, the ground forces of U.S. Army Europe and Africa, and the Kansas National Guard, the armed forces of France and Greece. The main objectives of the exercise are: Increasing the level of interoperability of units participating in international peacekeeping missions within the framework of peacekeeping operations, Exchanging best practices in management and tactical communication, Strengthening the readiness of the peacekeeping unit of the Republic of Armenia.

Ավելին"Eagle Partner-2026" military exercise will be held in the Republic of Armenia
Within the framework of preparation for participation in international peacekeeping missions, the annual "Eagle Partner-2026" military exercise will be held in the Republic of Armenia from June 17 to 25. The military exercises will be attended by servicemen from the Armenian Armed Forces Peacekeeping Brigade (250 participants), the ground forces of U.S. Army Europe and Africa, and the Kansas National Guard (58 participants), the Armed Forces of the French Republic (24 participants), and Hellenic Republic (11 participants). During the exercise, trainings will be held to prepare for and implement peacekeeping tasks. The goal of the "Eagle Partner-2026" military exercise is to increase the level of interoperability of units participating in international peacekeeping missions within the framework of peacekeeping operations, to exchange best practices in management and tactical communication, as well as to strengthen the readiness of the peacekeeping unit of the Republic of Armenia's Armed Forces. As part of preparations for peacekeeping missions, units preparing for international peacekeeping operations regularly participate in similar joint military exercises and drills in partner countries.
