Suren Papikyan received Chargé d'Affaires of the United States Embassy in Armenia
On February 13, the Minister of Defense, Suren Papikyan received Chargé d'Affaires of the United States Embassy in Armenia, David Allen. Minister Papikyan congratulated David Allen on assuming the position and wished him success. During the meeting, issues related to Armenia-U.S. cooperation in the defense sector were discussed. Suren Papikyan emphasized the importance of Armenia-U.S. cooperation in the current period, when Armenia is in an active phase of defense reforms. Reference was also made to bilateral military-technical cooperation. The sides particularly emphasized the areas of education, training, exercises, exchange of experience, and professional advisory support. David Allen expressed the United State's readiness to develop defense cooperation with Armenia, as well as support for the defense reform process in Armenia. Issues regarding to regional and international security were also discussed.

As part of his official visit to Armenia, Chief of the Defence Staff of the Indian Armed Forces, General Anil Chauhan, today visited the Vazgen Sargsyan Military Academy of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia. During the visit, General Anil Chauhan was introduced to the academy's structure, educational programs, and the specifics of cadets' professional training. At the Military Academy, Chief of the Defence Staff of the Indian Armed Forces, Anil Chauhan, attended the opening ceremony of the Information Technology Laboratory and the Distance Learning Center. Then, General Anil Chauhan visited the National Defence Research University of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, met with the university's leadership and teaching staff, got acquainted with the main directions of the university's activities, and delivered a lecture.

At the administrative complex of the Ministry of Defence, First Deputy Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Edward Asryan had a tete-a-tete conversation with Chief of the Defence Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of India, General Anil Chauhan, followed by an expanded meeting of delegations. During the meeting, the current course of cooperation between Armenia and India in the field of defence were discussed, and the activities carried out within the framework of the Bilateral Cooperation Plan were summed up. The parties also discussed a number of issues related to the effective implementation of the activities planned for 2026. The importance of holding events in the field of education, professional retraining, exercises, and the exchange of experience in various fields in Armenia and India were noted. Lieutenant General Edward Asryan presented the directions of the transformation of the Armenian Armed Forces, emphasizing the importance of Armenia-India defence cooperation in this process.

Minister Papikyan presented the ongoing defense reforms and the transformation of the Armed Forces being implemented within their framework, emphasizing NATO’s significant role in this process. Ms. Shekerinska reaffirmed NATO’s readiness to continue developing the partnership with Armenia. The parties also exchanged views on a number of regional and international security topics.

On December 15-16, within the framework of the cooperation program between the Ministries of Defence of the Republic of Armenia and Georgia, representatives of the Strategic Communications and Public Relations Department of the Georgian Ministry of Defence visited the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia. On December 16, the Press Secretary of the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia received the Georgian delegation at the MoD. During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further expanding bilateral cooperation, as well as opportunities for exchanging experience in the fields of public relations and information. The sides emphasized the importance of deepening professional ties and implementing joint programs. In the framework of the visit, the Georgian delegation also visited the Military Academy named after Vazgen Sargsyan of the MoD, where they were briefed on the educational programs and toured the classrooms.

On December 5, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan received the Minister of State for Defence of the United Kingdom Lord Coaker, as well as the first British Resident Defence Attaché to the Republic of Armenia, Major Thomas Shorland Ball, at the premises of the Ministry of Defence. Also present at the meeting were the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the United Kingdom Varuzhan Nersesyan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to the Republic of Armenia, Alexandra Cole. During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to Armenia-United Kingdom cooperation in the defence sector. Both sides positively assessed the current level of cooperation and expressed their readiness to further advance it. The parties emphasized the importance of the appointment of resident Defence Attachés in the Republic of Armenia and the United Kingdom, noting that this step will contribute to the further expansion of bilateral defence cooperation. A number of international and regional security topics were also addressed.
