Armenia-Cyprus bilateral and Armenia-Greece-Cyprus trilateral defence consultations were held
On April 22, Armenia-Cyprus bilateral and Armenia-Greece-Cyprus trilateral defence consultations were held in Cyprus, in which the delegation of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia headed by Levon Ayvazyan, Head of the Defence Policy and International Cooperation Department participated. During the consultations the process of cooperation in bilateral and trilateral formats and future tasks were discussed, opinions were exchanged on issues related to regional and international security, reforms implemented in the defence sector, and other issues of mutual interest. The parties highly appreciated the development of cooperation in recent years. As a result of the consultations, the heads of the departments responsible for international military cooperation of three countries signed the annual programs of Armenia-Cyprus bilateral and Armenia-Greece-Cyprus trilateral cooperation in the defence sector.

On April 23, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan met with the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze in Tbilisi. Suren Papikyan conveyed to Prime Minister Kobakhidze warm greetings from the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan. Minister Suren Papikyan presented the priorities and prospects of cooperation, highly evaluating the process of bilateral cooperation in the defence sector. During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to regional security, in the context of which they emphasized that the establishment of long-lasting peace in the region will contribute to the development and prosperity of all countries in the region.

After the welcoming ceremony of the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan, a private meeting between the Ministers of Defence of Armenia and Georgia was launched, which continued with an expanded delegation at the Ministry of Defence of Georgia. The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Georgia Ashot Smbatyan. During the meeting, issues related to the process and development prospects of bilateral cooperation in the defence sector were discussed. The parties also discussed a number of issues related to regional security.

The parties, particularly, emphasized the importance of the continuous strengthening of the bilateral strategic partnership and emphasized the need to expand cooperation in the defence sector.

The meeting was also attended by Armenian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to France Arman Khachatryan. During the meeting, the ministers highly appreciated the already established level of cooperation, emphasizing the importance of its continuity and development. The progress of programs implemented in military-technical cooperation, military education, professional training, as well as advisory support and other areas were discussed. The parties have reached an agreement to deepen and expand cooperation, bringing it to a qualitatively new, higher level, as well as to continue joint initiatives aimed at strengthening defence capabilities.
