The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia received the Deputy Secretary General of NATO
On December 18, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan received the Deputy Secretary General of NATO Ms. Radmila Shekerinska. During the meeting, the current state of the Armenia-NATO partnership and prospects for its further development were discussed. Minister Papikyan presented the ongoing defense reforms and the transformation of the Armed Forces being implemented within their framework, emphasizing NATO’s significant role in this process. Ms. Shekerinska reaffirmed NATO’s readiness to continue developing the partnership with Armenia. The parties also exchanged views on a number of regional and international security topics.

ԱվելինRepresentatives of the Georgian Ministry of Defence visited the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia
On December 15-16, within the framework of the cooperation program between the Ministries of Defence of the Republic of Armenia and Georgia, representatives of the Strategic Communications and Public Relations Department of the Georgian Ministry of Defence visited the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia. On December 16, the Press Secretary of the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia received the Georgian delegation at the MoD. During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further expanding bilateral cooperation, as well as opportunities for exchanging experience in the fields of public relations and information. The sides emphasized the importance of deepening professional ties and implementing joint programs. In the framework of the visit, the Georgian delegation also visited the Military Academy named after Vazgen Sargsyan of the MoD, where they were briefed on the educational programs and toured the classrooms.

ԱվելինSuren Papikyan received the Minister of State for Defence of the United Kingdom
On December 5, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan received the Minister of State for Defence of the United Kingdom Lord Coaker, as well as the first British Resident Defence Attaché to the Republic of Armenia, Major Thomas Shorland Ball, at the premises of the Ministry of Defence. Also present at the meeting were the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the United Kingdom Varuzhan Nersesyan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to the Republic of Armenia, Alexandra Cole. During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to Armenia-United Kingdom cooperation in the defence sector. Both sides positively assessed the current level of cooperation and expressed their readiness to further advance it. The parties emphasized the importance of the appointment of resident Defence Attachés in the Republic of Armenia and the United Kingdom, noting that this step will contribute to the further expansion of bilateral defence cooperation. A number of international and regional security topics were also addressed.

On November 17, on the sidelines of his working visit to the United Arab Emirates, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan held a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Crown Prince of Dubai of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the UAE, Karen Grigoryan, also participated in the meeting. A number of topics related to the prospects for Armenia-UAE defence cooperation were discussed. The parties expressed their readiness to further develop bilateral cooperation in the defence sector and sign an agreement between the Republic of Armenia and the United Arab Emirates on cooperation in the field of defence, defining the main directions of future cooperation. Issues related to regional and international security were also addressed.
