Suren Papikyan met with the Minister of National Defence of the Hellenic Republic
On May 6, within the framework of his working visit to the Hellenic Republic, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan met with the Minister of National Defence of the Hellenic Republic Nikos Dendias. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Greece Tigran Mkrtchyan also attended the meeting. During the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to Armenia–Greece cooperation in the defence sector. Both parties expressed satisfaction with the current high level of cooperation and emphasized their readiness to further enhance cooperation in the fields of military education, experience exchange across various domains, and other areas. Regional and international security issues were also addressed during the meeting.

The statement disseminated by the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan, alleging that on April 28 at approximately 12:25 a.m., the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia opened fire on Azerbaijani combat positions located in the eastern section of the border, does not correspond to reality. It is important to note that the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia has proposed the establishment of a joint Armenia-Azerbaijan mechanism for investigating ceasefire violations and related reports. However, Azerbaijan has yet to respond to this initiative. The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia reaffirms that, in accordance with the position of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, it stands ready to investigate the facts supporting the statement issued by the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan, should they be provided to the Republic of Armenia.

ԱվելինUnits of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces opened fire in the direction of the settlement of Khoznavar in Syunik Province
On April 23, at approximately 10:20 p.m., units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces opened fire in the direction of the Khoznavar settlement in Syunik Province, resulting in damage to a residential house. There were no reported casualties. We call on the Azerbaijani side to conduct an investigation into the shelling of the residential house in Khoznavar and to provide public clarification. It should be recalled that the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia has proposed the establishment of a joint Armenia-Azerbaijan mechanism for investigating ceasefire violations and related reports. However, Azerbaijan has yet to respond to this initiative.

On April 23 the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Finland to Armenia Kirsti Narinen. During the meeting, the sides discussed opportunities for bilateral cooperation between Armenia and Finland in the field of defence, as well as prospects for multilateral cooperation with NATO and the European Union. The parties also exchanged views on issues concerning regional and international security.

On April 23, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to Armenia, Robert Gerschner. Minister Papikyan congratulated Ambassador Gerschner on assuming his post and wished him success in further strengthening of the cooperation between Armenia and Austria. During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between Armenia and Austria in the field of defence, as well as issues related to regional and international security.

On April 20 at approximately 02:30 a.m., units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces opened fire in the direction of the settlement of Khoznavar in Syunik Province, inflicting damage on a solar water heater installed on the roof of a residential building. No casualties were reported. We urge the Azerbaijani side to conduct a thorough investigation into the shelling of the residential building in Khoznavar and to issue a public explanation. It is important to note that the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia has proposed the establishment of a joint Armenia-Azerbaijan mechanism for investigating ceasefire violations and related reports. However, Azerbaijan has yet to respond to this initiative.
