Command staff military training

On August 31, a demonstration command staff military training was held in one of the military units of the N army corp. Various tactical episodes were played out, and commanders' abilities to plan operations and manage subdivisions were tested. The commanding staff of the military unit highly appreciated the training of the servicemen involved in the military training and the coordination of the operations of the units.

On August 30, at the National Defence Research University of the Ministry of Drfence of the Republic of Armenia, the master's educational program in the specialty "State and Military Administration" for the 2022-2023 academic year was launched.

On August 30, Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces, First Deputy Minister of Defense, Major General Edward Asryan received the head of the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Armenia, Thierry Ribault.

A training course was held for the management staff of the SPS department of the RA Ministry of Defence

Within the framework of the "Human Rights and Women in the Armed Forces of Armenia - Phase II" program of the Council of Europe, on August 25-26, a training course on the topic "Effective leadership" was held for the management staff of the Social Protection of Servicemen Department of the RA Ministry of Defence. The course aimed at developing the management skills of the participants and increasing work efficiency was conducted by Maria Hovumyan, an expert of the Council of Europe. The program is implemented by the Council of Europe, as part of the CE for Armenia 2019-2022 program.

Tactical professional military training

On August 29, a tactical professional military training was held with the involvement of servicemen of the communication subdivisions of the N army corp. According to the combat calculation, the communication subdivisions were withdrawn to the predetermined regions within the specified period of time. The servicemen presented the field communication nodes, carried out exercises in operation and maintenance of communication systems, their use in different frequencies.

On August 27, Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces, First Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Edward Asryan watched the final stage of the "Tank Biathlon" competition held in the framework of the International Army Games at the "Alabino" training center near Moscow.

On August 26, Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces, Major General Edward Asryan, met with the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, 1st Deputy Minister of Defence, Army General Valery Gerasimov, within the scope of his working visit to the Russian Federation.

The RA Armed Forces team participated in the "Elbrus ring" competition

For the first time, the national team of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia took part in the "Elbrus Ring" competition held within the framework of the "International Army Games 2022" tournament with the servicemen of 10 countries. The participants performed 15 special tasks- overcoming mountain obstacles and glaciers in difficult climatic and psychological conditions, crossing rivers, practical shooting exercises, long marches around the Elbrus massif. The last, most difficult task was the conquering Elbrus (5642m), the highest mountain peak in Europe.

The meeting of the Committee of the heads of the bodies for work with the personnel of the defence ministries of the CIS states was held

According to the 2022 plan of the Council of Defence Ministers of the CIS member states (CIS CDM), on August 26, the regular meeting of the Committee of the heads of the bodies for work with the personnel of the defence ministries of the CIS member states was held in the administrative complex of the RA Defence Ministry. Delegations of defence ministries of the CIS countries and representatives of the Secretariat of the CIS Council of Defence Ministers participated in the meeting. Arman Sargsyan, Deputy Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, made a welcome speech at the event.

On August 25, sergeant A.M., a contract soldier of the N military unit of the RA Ministry of Defence, received burns as a result of the ignition of a household gas cylinder installed in the car body. The condition of the serviceman is assessed as serious.

Joint staff trainings were held

From August 23 to 25, under the leadership of the Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces, Major General Edward Asryan, joint staff trainings were held on the topic "The work of the military management bodies of the RA Armed Forces at the stage of making a decision of the defensive operation and setting tasks."
