On November 18, at around 09:50 a.m., a soldier of the N military unit of the MoD of the Republic of Armenia, E. H. received a gunshot wound in the wake of the shot fired by the Azerbaijani armed forces against the Armenian combat outposts near Paruyr Sevak. The health condition of the serviceman is assessed as moderate, with no danger to life at present. An investigation is underway to clarify all the circumstances of the incident.

On November 17, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan and the Minister of Defence of Georgia Juansher Burchuladze visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial and paid tribute to the memory of the victims. The ministers laid a wreath at the memorial and flowers at the Eternal Flame in memory of the innocent martyrs of the Armenian Genocide.

ԱվելինSuren Papikyan received the Minister of Defence of Georgia
On November 17, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan received the Minister of Defence of Georgia Juansher Burchuladze at the premises of the Ministry of Defence, who had arrived in Armenia on an official visit. During the welcoming ceremony, the national anthems of the Republic of Armenia and Georgia were played. An expanded meeting was followed after the tête-à-tête conversation of the defence ministers. The interlocutors highly valued the current status of cooperation. Issues related to Armenian-Georgian defence cooperation and regional security were discussed. The sides presented the details on ongoing reforms in the armed forces of the both countries. Following the official meeting, a bilateral cooperation plan between the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Defence of Georgia was signed by the Defence Ministers. Afterwards, the Minister of defence of Georgia Juansher Burchuladze planted a personalized spruce on the territory of the administrative complex of the MoD.

On November 14, in the framework of his working visit to the United Arab Emirates, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan met with the UAE Minister of State for Defence Mohammed Ahmed Al Bowardi. The meeting was attended by the RA Minister of High-Tech Industry Robert Khachatryan as well. Issues related to the prospects for developing defence cooperation between RA and UAE were discussed. The sides expressed their readiness to make efforts to develop cooperation and establish a legal basis for it.

On November 13, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan, in the framework of his working visit to the United Arab Emirates, attended the opening ceremony of Dubai Airshow’s edition at the invitation of the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Minister of Defence, Ruler of Dubai Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Following the official ceremony, the Minister of Defence visited the pavilions of international companies and got acquainted with the products demonstrated by the companies.

On November 9, the Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces - First Deputy Minister of Defence, Lieutenant General Edward Asryan had a meeting with the Chief of the General Staff of the Republic of Italy, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, who is in Armenia on a working visit. Issues related to bilateral cooperation were discussed, and the directions for cooperation between the Italian and Armenian Armed Forces in 2024 were also outlined. Then, accompanied by Edward Asryan, the delegation led by Giuseppe Cavo Dragone visited the “Yerablur” military pantheon, and paid tribute to the memory of the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the defence of the Motherland.

ԱվելինLieutenant General Edward Asryan visited the U․S․ European Command Center
On November 1-3, at the invitation of the U.S. European Command the Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces - First Deputy Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Edward Asryan visited the U․S․ European Command Center located in Stuttgart. On November 3, held a meeting with the Deputy Commander for U.S. European Command, Lieutenant General Stephen Basham. During the meeting issues related to the development of the Armenian-American military cooperation were discussed. Lieutenant General Edward Asryan briefed the details about the reforms conducting in the RA AF and the support expected from the USA. Lieutenant General Stephen Basham expressed the willingness of the USA to continue supporting current cooperation programs in the following areas: professionalization of Armed Forces, professional sergeant staff's strengthening, modernization of the management system, peacekeeping, military medicine, military education, combat readiness, trainings, etc. Issues related to regional security were also discussed. On the sidelines of the visit, Lieutenant General Edward Asryan also visited the Joint Multinational Readiness Centre of the U.S. Ground Forces in Europe and the NCO Academy located in Hohenfels.

During the meeting, a number of issues related to the cooperation in the defence field and its potential for development were discussed.
