The MoD of Azerbaijan has again spread disinformation
The statement disseminated by the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan alleging that on August 28 at around 6:30 p.m. units of the Armenian Armed Forces fired against the Azerbaijani combat positions located in the southwestern part of the border does not correspond to reality. It should be noted that the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia has proposed the establishment of a joint Armenia-Azerbaijan mechanism for investigating ceasefire violations and/or related cases, to which Azerbaijan has not yet responded.

On August 23, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Republic of Armenia, Olivier Decottignies. During the meeting, discussions focused on the current state of defence cooperation between Armenia and France, as well as upcoming joint initiatives. Particular attention was given to the ongoing reforms within the Armenian Armed Forces and the related collaborative programs with France.

ԱվելինThe General Staff of the Armed Forces participated in the annual Land Warfare Conference
The delegation led by the First Deputy Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia-Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Edward Asryan, participated in the annual Land Warfare Conference in London. The conference, organized under the auspices of the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) of the United Kingdom, aimed to study the threats in the land domain of warfare, explore possible solutions, and examine partnership opportunities as well as the latest politico-military and industrial developments. Within the framework of the conference, Lieutenant General Edward Asryan met with the Chief of the General Staff of the British Army, General Sir C. Roland V. Walker. The scope of cooperation between the two states in the field of defence and the possibilities for its further development and expansion were discussed.

On July 30, the Deputy Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, Arman Sargsyan, received Mr. Marcin Różycki, the Polish Charge d'Affaires to the Republic of Armenia, outgoing Polish Defence Attaché, Colonel Wojciech Wiśniewski, and incoming Polish Defence Attaché, Colonel Jarosław Oleśkiewicz. Arman Sargsyan congratulated Colonel Jarosław Oleśkiewicz on assuming his new position and wished him success in his duties. He also expressed his gratitude to Colonel Wiśniewski for their collaborative efforts and cooperation. During the meeting, various topics related to the prospects for cooperation in the field of defence between Armenia and Poland were discussed.

The recent post by a social network user, containing disinformation, has been circulated in the press. In response, the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia clarifies that there has been no positional change in the Yeraskh section. We urge our media partners to rely on official information and refrain from disseminating unverified or false news. In similar instances, we recommend verifying information with the relevant department within the Ministry of Defence. Additionally, there has been a noticeable increase in targeted disinformation publications by foreign special services in international media, related to various activities of the Armenian Armed Forces. We urge the public and our media partners to remain vigilant and adhere to official information sources.

On July 24th , the closing ceremony of the joint Armenia-U.S. military exercise “EAGLE PARTNER 2024”, which was held in Armenia from 15 to 24 July, took place as part of the preparation for participation in international peacekeeping missions. The leadership expressed their gratitude to the personnel for their productive interoperability, the successful execution of joint trainings, and the sharing of valuable experience.
