From November 21 to 24, the advisory group of the NATO "Partnership for Peace" consortium of the "Development of Defence Education" program in Armenia held a seminar for representatives of the Defence Ministry and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia on the topic "The role and significance of the professional sergeant system in the modern armed forces"․ Within the framework of the event, foreign partners presented the features and development trends of the professional sergeant system in the modern armed forces, its role in the armed forces and modern warfare. The advisory group of the Armenian "Development of Defence Education" program was received by the Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces, First Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Edward Asryan. During the meeting, the results of the event were summarized, the ways of further interaction were outlined.

ԱվելինA private conversation between the RA and RF Defence Ministers took place
On November 23, a session of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization was held in Yerevan with the participation of the secretaries of the National Security Councils, Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defence of the CSTO member states. Immediately after the meeting, the Defense Ministers of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation had a short private conversation. Suren Papikyan and Sergey Shoigu exchanged views on a number of issues of bilateral interest, as well as related to defense cooperation.

On November 22, Defence Minister of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan received the delegation headed by the minister of Defence of Kazakhstan Colonel General Ruslan Zhaksylykov. The interlocutors, greeting each other and appreciating the current level of Armenian-Kazakh bilateral relations, referred to the possibilities of development of bilateral cooperation in defence sphere. The Armenian Defence Minister Suren Papikyan presented the current situation resulting from the latest Azerbaijani military aggression. Issues related to the regional security were discussed. The Ministers of Defence exchanged views on the course of the Armenian and Kazakh armies' reforms. At the end of the meeting, Ruslan Zhaksylykov has invited his colleague Suren Papikyan to the Republic of Kazakhstan.

ԱվելինThe opening ceremony of the "Zar" training center improved with US support took place
On November 17, the opening ceremony of "Zar" training center improved with the support of the USA took place. RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was present at the event. Major General Daniel Lasica, Director of Strategy, Planning and Policy of the US European Command, and other officials also participated in the event. The "Zar" training center is the main training subdivision of the peacekeeping brigade of the RA Ministry of Defence, where peacekeeping forces' exercises, military trainings, personnel training and peacekeeping mission preparation plans are conducted, training courses for servicemen are organized. The purpose of the center's activities is to increase the level of combat training of servicemen of the peacekeeping brigade, combined arms subdivisions of the RA Armed Forces and representatives of the Armed Forces of the partner states. This, in turn, will make it possible in the future to strengthen cooperation with international peacekeeping training centers, join international peacekeeping training institutions, train instructors who meet international standards, plan and conduct larger-scale military trainings. The reconstruction of the "Zar" training center was carried out in several stages. From now on, Armenian peacekeepers will have the opportunity to conduct their trainings and training missions in more improved and up-to-date conditions. The participants of the event toured the reconstructed educational buildings, got acquainted with the work performed, the material and technical base, the conditions created for organizing the educational process of military personnel and conducting tactical and professional training events, as well as followed the demonstration exercise of overcoming the new tactical barrier.

On November 17, the 30th anniversary of the formation of the military medical service and the day of the medical worker were solemnly celebrated in the administrative complex of the RA Ministry of Defence. The ceremony was attended by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, First Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Edward Asryan, Deputy Minister of Defence Arman Sargsyan, other high-ranking officials, as well as representatives of medical institutions. Welcoming and congratulating the guests, Edward Asryan highly appreciated the role and importance of the military medical service in strengthening the combat capability of the Armed Forces. Deputy Minister of Defence Arman Sargsyan wished the medical workers to use their professional knowledge only in peaceful conditions. On the occasion of the professional holiday, the head of the Military Medical Department of the Armed Forces, Gegham Pashikyan, also congratulated the fellow servicemen and briefly introduced the great work done by the medical personnel during the 44-day war and the September combat operations. At the end of the event, a group of servicemen of the military medical service, as well as representatives of civilian medical institutions, were awarded with departmental medals, certificates of honor and valuable gifts by order of the Minister of Defence Suren Papikyan.
