Events dedicated to the 125th birth anniversary of the famous Armenian military commander, twice Hero of the USSR, Marshal Hovhannes Baghramyan were held in Yerevan, in particular, a tribute to the marshal monument on Baghramyan Avenue, the opening of a memorial plaque dedicated to Baghramyan at the entrance to the office of the public organization "Association of Veterans of the Republic of Armenia", as well as an exhibition at the Museum of Military History of the Ministry of Defence "Mother Armenia". Within the framework of the events dedicated to the 125th birth anniversary of Hovhannes Baghramyan, in the evening Defense Minister Suren Papikyan received Ivan Baghramyan, marshal’s grandson, who visited the Republic of Armenia, and awarded him with a departmental medal.

On December 6, the RA Ministry of Defence organized a training for media representatives accredited by the Ministry of Defence at the National Defence Research University of the Ministry of Defence. The training was conducted by representatives of the Ministry of Defence, professors of the NDRU and invited experts. The importance of the role of the media in the professional presentation of information related to the defense sphere was highlighted. A number of issues related to the provision and publication of information related to army issues and the coverage of the events taking place in the armed forces were also discussed. Certificates were given to participants at the end of the training.

ԱվելինThe Minister of Defence and the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces met with the servicemen of a training battalion
On the same day, Minister of Defence Suren Papikyan and Chief of General Staff, 1st Deputy Minister of Defence Edward Asryan met with the servicemen of the training battalion of a separate motorized rifle subdivisions in another military unit. Highly praising the level of training of the servicemen of the subdivision, recorded as a result of planned and sudden inspections, Suren Papikyan and Edward Asryan expressed hope that during the upcoming final exams, the servicemen will also demonstrate high professional qualities, thus contributing to the strengthening of the army's combat capability with their knowledge. The head of the defence department answered the questions of the officers and servicemen, related to the organization of the service those of a social and everyday nature, assuring that all the issues are in the center of attention of the military-political leadership and the ongoing reforms in the armed forces are primarily aimed at solving them. Minister Papikyan's visit to the military unit ended up with a working consultation with the command and paying tribute at the memorial wall dedicated to the memory of the servicemen who died in the 44-day war.

On December 2, RA Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan, accompanied by Chief of General Staff of Armed Forces, First Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Edward Asryan and Lori Region Governor Aram Khachatryan, visited N army corp. In one of the military units, the head of the defence department met with the servicemen of the special forces and paratrooper units, inquired about the process of organizing the service, the existing issues, the issues related to the equipment and official weapons of the servicemen. Then Suren Papikyan and Major-General Edward Asryan met and talked to the conscripts of the training battalion and wished them success for the upcoming graduation exams. The Minister of Defence answered the questions of the servicemen, presented the course of the reforms launched in the Armed Forces. The Minister of Defence and the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, the 1st Deputy Minister of Defence paid tribute to the memory of the heroes who died in the 2020 war. At the end of the visit, Minister Papikyan got acquainted with the progress of the construction works of the new barracks being built on the territory of the military unit.

On December 1, RA Minister of Defence Suren Papikyan, accompanied by Major General Edward Asryan, Chief of the Armed Forces General Staff, 1st Deputy Minister of Defence, visited N military unit of the Defence Ministry. Touring the military unit and getting acquainted with the conditions of the building and household, the recently renovated gym and canteen, the head of the defence department observed the organization of the service, the implementation of the planned tactical events. Talking to the servicemen and listening to their problems, Minister Papikyan presented details about the progress of the reforms implemented in the defence sector.

Within the framework of summarizing the results of the academic year, complex and comprehensive inspections of army corps and military units have started. During complex inspections, the state of combat readiness, training, management system and support of troops is assessed. The subdivisions were brought to the appropriate level of combat readiness and performed the assigned tasks.

On November 30, at 10:35 p.m, units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces opened fire from different caliber firearms towards the Armenian combat positions located in the Eastern part of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border zone. No casualties from the Armenian side. As of 08:30 a.m. of December 1, the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border zone is relatively stable.

On November 30, Minister of Defence Suren Papikyan, accompanied by Major General Edward Asryan, Chief of the Armed Forces General Staff, First Deputy Minister of Defence, visited N army corp. During the tour, Minister Papikyan observed the construction, furnishing and engineering works carried out in the lines. Then, Suren Papikyan met with the servicemen of the training battalion of the army corp. During the conversation, inquiring about the service of conscripts, their moral and psychological state, the training process, the Minister of Defence presented details about the reforms implemented in the defence sector and the new programs being implemented. At the end of the tour, the head of the defence department got acquainted with the ongoing construction works in one of the military units.
