Suren Papikyan received Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran
On July 9th, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Armenia, H.E. Mr. Mehdi Sobhani. The newly appointed Defence Attaché of the Embassy of the IRI in the RA, Colonel Mohammad Najafi, also participated in the meeting. Minister Papikyan extended congratulations to the newly appointed Defence Attaché and conveyed his best wishes for success in his pivotal mission. Furthermore, Suren Papikyan expressed gratitude to the former Defence Attaché, Colonel Bahman Sadeghin for productive cooperation. The discussion encompassed topics related to Armenia-Iran defence cooperation and regional security.

ԱվելինArmenia-U.S. joint exercise "EAGLE PARTNER 2024" will be held in Armenia
In the framework of preparation for participation in international peacekeeping missions the Armenia-U.S. joint exercise "EAGLE PARTNER 2024" will be held from 15 to 24 July in Armenia. Servicemembers from the peacekeeping brigade of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, the U.S. Army Europe and Africa, and the Kansas National Guard participate in the exercise. The exercise will focus on stabilization tasks between conflicting parties during a peacekeeping mission. The purpose of the exercise is to enhance the interoperability of units participating in international peacekeeping missions, exchange best practices in control and tactical communication, and improve the readiness of the Armenian unit. Units preparing for international peacekeeping operations regularly engage in similar joint military exercises and training with partner countries.

In the framework of his working visit to Luxembourg on June 20, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan met with the Minister of Defence of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Yuriko Backes. Ambassador Tigran Balayan was also in attendance at the meeting. Discussions encompassed the potential for cooperation between Armenia and Luxembourg in security and defence fields, including partnerships in multilateral frameworks such as NATO and the EU, as well as regional security issues. Minister Papikyan presented an overview of the ongoing reforms within the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia.

On June 19th, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, held a meeting with the Military Adviser and Chief of the Military Staff to the President of France, General Fabien Mandon. During the meeting, they discussed the ongoing cooperation between Armenia and France in the field of defence, as well as prospective programs. The Minister of Defence provided an update on the reforms within the Armenian Armed Forces and the level of support of France in this context. On June 17th, on the sidelines of his working visit to France, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, met with the Minister of the Armed Forces of France, Sébastien Lecornu.
