The delegation led by the Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces - First Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Edward Asryan following the invitation by the USAREURAF’s Commanding General, U.S. Army General Darryl Williams paid a working visit to Germany to attend Annual Conference of European Armies. On the first day of the Conference, Major General Edward Asryan had an informal meeting with the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army, General James C. McConville. In the course of the Conference, a number of other meetings of the Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces with European partners are envisaged. In the same format, the Chief of the General Staff met with the Commanding General of the Artillery Command, United States Army Europe and Africa, Armenian by origin Major General Stephen J. Maranian.

Overnight June 21 and 22, at about 10:55 p.m. -12: 45 a.m. the Azerbaijani AF units opened fire from different caliber small arms against the Armenian combat positions located in the eastern -Verin Shorzha, Sotk- part of the frontier zone. There are no casualties from the Armenian side.

Within the framework of the activities dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Armenia-Kansas State Partnership, the delegation led by Brigadier General Michael T. Venerdi, The Adjutant General, Commander of Kansas National Guard visited the Yerablur Military Pantheon on June 21 and paid tribute to the memory of Armenians who gave their lives defending their homeland. On the same day, the delegation members visited the Armavir training center. The guests were briefed on the history, structure, and activities of the center. Issues related to the process of training professional NCOs were also discussed with the members of the delegation, which is one of the priorities of the training center as well. The delegation led by The Adjutant General Michael Venerdi toured the compound of the military unit and got acquainted with the servicemembers’ welfare and living conditions, the training facilities, and the military routine. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Armenia-Kansas State Partnership, Governor of the State of Kansas Laura Kelly to visit Armenia as well.

ԱվելինSuren Papikyan had a meeting with French Minister for the Armed Forces
RA Minister of Defence Suren Papikyan, in the course of his visit to France, had a meeting with French Minister for the Armed Forces, Sébastien Lecornu. The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Armenia to France Hasmik Tolmajyan as well. A ceremonial welcoming of the head of the Defence Agency of the Republic of Armenia took place with the participation of a military band and an honor guard, the national anthems of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of France were played. The welcoming ceremony was followed by discussions on the current status of implementation of the arrangements arrived at during the meeting in Paris on September 27 last year. Regional security issues were discussed as well. At the end of the meeting, Defence Minister Suren Papikyan expressed his gratitude to French Minister for the Armed Forces, Sébastien Lecornu for the eventful working visit to the French Republic and warm welcoming.

ԱվելինMajor General Edward Asryan's visit to the MoD assembly point
On June 20, on the occasion of the 2023 summer call-up eve, the Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces- First Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Edward Asryan, visited the MoD assembly point and conducted a drill inspection all the while observing the preparations for the conscription. E. Asryan was briefed on the measures conducted towards the conscripts’ admission, set up of a specialist's commission, physical examination, and drawing. The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces- First Deputy Minister of Defence gave relevant instructions and guidance to organize the winter military call-up properly.

ԱվելինSuren Papikyan visited Mount Valerian memorial
On June 19, RA Minister of Defence Suren Papikyan, who is on a working visit to France, accompanied by the Ambassador of Armenia to France Hasmik Tolmajyan and defence attaché Gevorg Ghonyan, visited Mount Valerian memorial which commemorates the memory of the participants of the French Resistance, including resistance hero Misak Manushyan and 21 members of his group. On February 21, 1944, after three months of interrogation and torture, 37-year-old Manushyan and the members of his group were executed here in Fort Mont-Valeria. In memory of Misak Manushyan, his wife Meline Manushyan and other Armenian heroes who lost their lives for the liberation of France, Defence Minister of Armenia laid flowers on the "Memorial to Fighting France” and then toured the compound of the memorial complex. Of note: on June 18, the Elysée Palace officially announced about the historic decision of the French President Emmanuel Macron to move the remains of the hero of the French resistance, Armenian Genocide survivor Misak Manushyan to the Pantheon of France in the near future.
