Units of the Azerbaijani armed forces fired towards Tegh
On July 12, at 5:30 a.m., units of the Azerbaijani armed forces fired towards the Armenian combat outposts nearby Tegh, in the wake of which the RA Armed Forces serviceman Y. Kh. wounded. The serviceman's health condition is assessed as satisfactory and his life is not in danger.

At the same time, we inform that the statement issued by the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan as if the units of the Armenian Armed Forces opened fire against the Azerbaijani combat strongpoint located in the eastern section of the frontier zone from 9:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., does not correspond to reality.

ԱվելինSuren Papikyan's visits to the military units
On July 11, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan visited another military unit of the MoD to watch the servicemember's certification course, where they were taking exams on in-line training, shooting training, professional skills, and service duties within the regular certification exams. Having talks with the servicemembers Suren Papikyan wished them success and excellent marks. The head of the Defence Agency reiterated anew that those servicemembers who will not be able to overcome the exams can have an additional opportunity to better prepare and retake exams. The chairman of the certification commission, First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Kamo Kochunts briefed on the progress of the exams and the outputs recorded previously to the Minister.

ԱվելինThe certification process of the servicemembers
On July 11, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan visited the MoD N military unit and watched servicemembers’ certification exams. During the Minister's presence, the servicemembers were passing physical training exams. All the while conversing with the members of the examination committee, Minister Papikyan inquired about the course of the examinations and gave guidance to organize the certification process properly and impartially. Of note: starting on July 10, certification exams commenced for servicemembers of a number of AF military units.

ԱվելինA meeting was held under the leadership of the Minister of Defence
On July 11, a formal consultation was held under the leadership of the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan, which was attended by the leadership of the Ministry of Defence, the Armed Forces, and the General Staff of the AF, as well as the military command of the Army units. Prior to the discussions, Suren Papikyan congratulated the high-ranking servicemembers recently awarded high military ranks and wished them success in their important mission. During the meeting, a number of issues related to the work being carried out in the Armed Forces were discussed. Afterward, the head of the Defence Ministry gave instructions and guidance to the heads of relevant departments.

The first meeting of the interdepartmental commission, created to prepare and hold the 2024 World Wrestling Championship among military personnel in Yerevan, took place under the chairmanship of the Deputy Minister of Defence of Armenia Arman Sargsyan. Representatives of the ministries involved in the commission, as well as invited experts, made some proposals. The forthcoming activities and terms of their performance are determined.

ԱվելինArmenia-Greece-Cyprus trilateral defence consultations
On July 5, Armenia-Greece-Cyprus trilateral defence consultations were held in the Republic of Cyprus. From the Armenian side, the consultations were attended by a delegation led by Levon Ayvazyan, the Head of the Defence Policy Department and International Cooperation of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia. During the consultations, a number of security issues relating to the interests of the three countries, as well as issues of collaboration, were discussed. The parties confirmed their readiness to take joint steps to strengthen the defence capability and military security of the three countries. In the wake of the discussions, an annual program of trilateral defence collaboration was signed, which includes a number of activities in the aforementioned countries. At the end of the consultations, the delegation was welcomed by Lieutenant General Demokritos Zervakis, the Chief of the Cypriot National Guard.

On the occasion of the Constitution Day, based on the proposal of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, by the Decrees of the President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan, the Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces- First Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Edward Asryan was awarded the military rank of Lieutenant General, the Commander of the Special Army Corps, Colonel Armen Gyozalyan was awarded the military rank of Major General, the Commander of the Department of Missile Forces and Artillery of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia - Head of Department, Colonel Gor Nikoyan was awarded the military rank of Major General, the Commander of the Engineering Troops of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia - Head of Department, Colonel Karen Grigoryan was awarded the military rank of Major General and the Commander of the 2nd Army Corps, Colonel Garegin Poghosyan was awarded the military rank of Major General. During the ceremonial event at the Residence of the President, President Vahagn Khachaturyan congratulated the high-ranking military officers on the occasion of Constitution Day and on receiving high military ranks, and wished them best of luck in their service forthcoming.

ԱվելինMeeting at the Ministry of Defence
On July 4, under the leadership of the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan, a meeting was held to sum up the outputs of the half-year with the servicemembers and civil servants of the Information and Public Affairs Department of the MoD and the state institution “Zinuzh Media”. During the meeting, reports were presented on the work done in the first term of 2023. In particular, the attendees addressed the activities done in providing information to the public, cooperation with the media outlets, covering the daily routine of the Armed Forces personnel, cooperation with public organizations, and other issues in this field. The upcoming tasks were discussed as well. Defence Minister Suren Papikyan gave several instructions and outlined the directions for organizing the activities more effectively.
