Bilateral defence consultations were held between the Ministries of Defence of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Lithuania

On February 6th, bilateral defence consultations were held between the Ministries of Defence of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Lithuania at the administrative complex of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia. The head of the Department of Defence Policy and International Cooperation of the RA MoD Levon Ayvazyan, presented security issues and ongoing defence reforms to the Head of the Operations Board of the Joint Staff of the Lithuanian Armed Forces Algirdas Norkus. Discussions encompassed the current status and prospects of cooperation between Armenia and Lithuania in the defence sector, resulting in the agreement on several key points. The consultations culminated in the signing of a Cooperation Program for 2024 between the Ministries of Defence of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Lithuania.

Representatives of the Saint-Cyr Military Academy of the AF of the France conducted a visit to the Military Academy named after Vazgen Sargsyan

On February 2, representatives from the leadership of the Saint-Cyr Military Academy of the Armed Forces of the Republic of France conducted a visit to the Military Academy named after Vazgen Sargsyan, under the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia. Armen Khachatryan, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee on Defence and Security of the National Assembly, was also in attendance during the meeting. The guests had the opportunity to tour the academy premises, gaining familiarity with the facilities, available opportunities, and the curriculum. Detailed presentations were made to them regarding the structure, activities, and educational programs of the academy. Discussions were held on matters related to the interaction and cooperation between the two academies. Furthermore, on the same day, in the presence of RA Deputy Minister of Defence Arman Sargsyan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Armenia, Olivier Decotigny, a modernly equipped French classroom was inaugurated at the academy. The symbolic act of cutting the red ribbon was performed jointly by a French cadet studying in Armenia and an Armenian cadet set to pursue studies in France, exemplifying the cooperative ties between the two academies.

Suren Papikyan visited the Military College of the Ministry of Defence of the Kazakhstan

On January 24th, in the framework of his official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, visited the Shoqan Ualikhanov Military College of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Throughout his visit to the military college, Minister Suren Papikyan conducted meetings with the college commander and the CMS. of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan. He received a detailed briefing on the college's educational programs, leading to discussions about enhancing cooperation between the military college and the Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) training center of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia. Following these discussions, Minister Suren Papikyan undertook a comprehensive tour of the college, gaining familiarity with its educational facilities. Subsequently, he made noteworthy entries in the memorial book dedicated to esteemed guests of the college.

The meeting of Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia and Minister of Defence of Kazakhstan took place

On January 23rd, during the official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, a formal welcoming ceremony of the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, Suren Papikyan took place at the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The ceremony featured the participation of an honor guard and a military band. Subsequent to the ceremony, the meeting between Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, and Minister of Defence of Kazakhstan, Colonel General Ruslan Zhaksylykov, commenced. Throughout the meeting, discussions encompassed matters concerning Armenian-Kazakh defence cooperation, security, and various issues of mutual interest. Substantial potential for cooperation on both sides was acknowledged, culminating in an agreement to further enhance cooperation. Concluding the meeting, the Defence Ministers formalized their discussions by signing the 2024 defence cooperation plan between the ministries of defence of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Kazakhstan. This plan includes a series of activities to be conducted in both Armenia and Kazakhstan.

On December 18th, bilateral consultations were conducted between Armenia and Greece, as well as between Armenia and Cyprus, alongside trilateral discussions involving Armenia, Greece, and Cyprus, held at the premises of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia. The Head of the International Organizations Section of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, Brigadier General Vasileios Tsamis, led the Greek delegation. On the Cypriot side, the Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Cyprus National Guard General Staff, Colonel Alkiviadis Alkiviadis, headed the Cypriot delegation. These consultations encompassed a comprehensive review of the outcomes stemming from the official visits of the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, to the Republic of Cyprus and the Hellenic Republic. Discussions further delved into the course of bilateral and trilateral cooperation, alongside considerations of regional and international security issues. The head of the Department of Defence Policy and International Cooperation of the MoD of the Republic of Armenia Levon Ayvazyan presented a detailed overview of the ongoing reforms within the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia to his colleagues. Concluding the consultations, the participating parties formalized agreements by signing the Armenia-Greece, Armenia-Cyprus, and Armenia-Greece-Cyprus Military Cooperation Programs for 2024.
