The Minister of Defence received Ambassador of the French Republic
On February 14th, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Armenia, Olivier Decottignies. During the meeting, the ongoing progress of cooperation in the defence sector, as well as issues related to regional security, were discussed.

On February 6th, bilateral defence consultations were held between the Ministries of Defence of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Lithuania at the administrative complex of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia. The head of the Department of Defence Policy and International Cooperation of the RA MoD Levon Ayvazyan, presented security issues and ongoing defence reforms to the Head of the Operations Board of the Joint Staff of the Lithuanian Armed Forces Algirdas Norkus. Discussions encompassed the current status and prospects of cooperation between Armenia and Lithuania in the defence sector, resulting in the agreement on several key points. The consultations culminated in the signing of a Cooperation Program for 2024 between the Ministries of Defence of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Lithuania.

On February 2, representatives from the leadership of the Saint-Cyr Military Academy of the Armed Forces of the Republic of France conducted a visit to the Military Academy named after Vazgen Sargsyan, under the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia. Armen Khachatryan, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee on Defence and Security of the National Assembly, was also in attendance during the meeting. The guests had the opportunity to tour the academy premises, gaining familiarity with the facilities, available opportunities, and the curriculum. Detailed presentations were made to them regarding the structure, activities, and educational programs of the academy. Discussions were held on matters related to the interaction and cooperation between the two academies. Furthermore, on the same day, in the presence of RA Deputy Minister of Defence Arman Sargsyan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Armenia, Olivier Decotigny, a modernly equipped French classroom was inaugurated at the academy. The symbolic act of cutting the red ribbon was performed jointly by a French cadet studying in Armenia and an Armenian cadet set to pursue studies in France, exemplifying the cooperative ties between the two academies.

On January 24th, in the framework of his official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, visited the Shoqan Ualikhanov Military College of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Throughout his visit to the military college, Minister Suren Papikyan conducted meetings with the college commander and the CMS. of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan. He received a detailed briefing on the college's educational programs, leading to discussions about enhancing cooperation between the military college and the Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) training center of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia. Following these discussions, Minister Suren Papikyan undertook a comprehensive tour of the college, gaining familiarity with its educational facilities. Subsequently, he made noteworthy entries in the memorial book dedicated to esteemed guests of the college.
