Vagharshak Harutyunyan received the Ambassador of France in Armenia

On February 5, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Vagharshak Harutyunyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France in the Republic of Armenia Jonathan Lacotte accompanied by the Military Attaché of the French Embassy in the Republic of Armenia Danny Pitt (residence in Tbilisi).

During the meeting issues related to regional security and bilateral cooperation in the field of defense were discussed. The RA Minister of Defence also presented the security environment of the region, the existing threats and the expected developments.

In his turn, Ambassador Lacotte noted that during the hostilities and after their cessation, the situation has always been in the focus of the French leadership, concerns were raised, and efforts are being made to finally stabilize the situation. Speaking about bilateral cooperation in the field of defense, the Ambassador informed about the proposal of a number of programs aimed at the multilateral development of cooperation, which was accepted by the Minister of Defence.

An agreement was reached on the implementation next month of a number of measures to promote cooperation.
