The trilateral agreement reached between the Prime Minister of Armenia and the Presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan on the cessation of the war unleashed on September 27 in Artsakh and deployment of the Russian peacekeeping contingent to control the ceasefire regime in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone provide an opportunity for specifying the fate of the servicemen and civilians who are in captivity or whose location is unknown and for exchanging the corpses.

The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia is ready to provide comprehensive support to the Russian peacekeeping contingent during the mission. The activities are already underway with the leadership of the peacekeeping mission and ICRC representatives to establish practical mechanisms for the exchange of the captives and corpses and carry out the process in a short period of time.

In accordance with the established procedure, the Insurance Foundation for Servicemen has started to provide compensation to the families of the servicemen wounded or died after September 27. The activities are underway to develop legislative initiatives to simplify the existing legislative field on the missing persons, as well as the current procedure for the compensation of the wounded or killed servicemen and reduce the terms for providing compensation.
