Armenian Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary ambassador to USA, Tatoul Margarian, met with deputy defense secretary Gordon England on August 14.

Colonel Armen Sargsyan, Armenian military attaché to USA , also participated in the meeting.

Sides discussed a wide scope of issues pertaining to American-Armenian military cooperation and regional security issues. Ambassador Margarian conveyed a letter of gratitude of Armenian defense ministry to Mr. England for treating an Armenian officer Georgi Nalbandian from the Armenian non-combat platoon in at a Washington-based Walter Reed military hospital. For his part Gordon England thanked Armenia for having a non-combat platoon in Iraq as part of the coalition troops.
