The course "Human rights in the armed forces" has been included in the curriculum of the Military University

With the support of the program "Human Rights and Women in the Armed Forces of Armenia - Phase II", a course on "Human Rights in the Armed Forces" was developed and included in the curriculum of the V. Sargsyan Military University of the Ministry of Defence.
On December 12, the opening ceremony of the auditorium for the course "Human Rights in the Armed Forces" was held at the Military University. The delegation headed by Leila Zhdanova, deputy head of the Yerevan office of the Council of Europe, took part in the opening ceremony of the auditorium equipped with the support of the "Human Rights and Women in the Armed Forces of Armenia - Phase II" project.

The Deputy Minister of Defence thanked the team of the "Human Rights and Women in the Armed Forces of Armenia - Phase II" program for their willingness to support the servicemen of the Armed Forces, develop their abilities and skills within the framework of training and educational activities.

During the meeting, the parties confirmed their willingness to ensure the development and continuity of cooperation, and discussed new directions of further cooperation, particularly in the field of ensuring human rights in the Armed Forces. The "Human Rights and Women in the Armed Forces of Armenia - Phase II" program is implemented by the Council of Europe within the framework of the 2019-2022 Action Plan for Armenia.

The main goal of the program is to contribute to the protection of human rights in the Armed Forces, in particular, the rights of women servicemen, and to strengthen the effectiveness of legal processes in military affairs, supporting the development of skills and abilities in the development of legal acts, in order to contribute to the implementation of the National Strategy for the Protection of Human Rights 2020-2022. The specific objective of the project is to increase the involvement of women in the armed forces in accordance with the standards and recommendations of the Council of Europe.
