On May 14, Acting Minister of Defense Vagharshak Harutyunyan received Commander of the Southern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces, General Alexander Dvornikov, who arrived in Armenia on a working visit (it should be reminded that the 102nd Russian military base located in Armenia is under the subordination of the Southern Military District of the RF Armed Forces).

During the meeting, the situation in Syunik region and the ways to resolve it, the reforms launched in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia were discussed, and issues related to regional security were also touched upon.

The interlocutors highly appreciated the level of bilateral military cooperation and expressed confidence that the planned programs will be implemented in time, in full.
