On May 7, RA Defence Minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan took part in the opening ceremony of the Russian language classroom at the Military University of the Ministry of Defence named after V. Sargsyan. The event was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin.

Congratulating the teaching staff of the military university on the opening of the classroom, Vagharshak Harutyunyan noted that the allied relations between the two friendly countries and the high level of military cooperation emphasize the importance of cultural ties, including language skills. Reminding that only two days later, on May 9, the next anniversary of the joint victory against fascism will be celebrated, Vagharshak Harutyunyan expressed confidence that worthy descendants of the Armenian marshals and military commanders who made the victory of the Great Patriotic War will be trained in the newly opened classroom.

Together with the cadets of the Military University, the officers applying to the higher military educational institutions of the Russian Federation will supplement their knowledge in the Russian language classroom.

The Russian language classroom at the V. Sargsyan Military University will be named after the famous Russian military commander Alexander Suvorov.
