On April 23, representatives of Human Rights and Integrity Building Center and the General Department for issues of Healthcare, Social Protection of Servicemen and issues of Veterans of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia held a seminar-discussion with female servicemen of the peacekeeping brigade of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, dedicated to the provisions of Resolution 1325 of the UN Security Council, the importance of their implementation at the national level.

During the seminar organized within the framework of the activities for the implementation of the National Program 2019-2021, actions to implement the provisions of Resolution N 1325 "Women, Peace and Security" of the UN Security Council, the issues related to the involvement of women in the defense sector, ensuring equal opportunities for them and effective use of women's potential in the armed forces were discussed.

The importance of the participation of women in peacekeeping missions was highlighted, reference was made to the issues of prevention of violence against women during armed conflicts and providing protection of abused women. The female servicemen presented their experience of involvement in peacekeeping missions.

Such discussions are of a regular nature and focus on various issues related to the protection of human rights in the armed forces.
