Awareness visit to the Military Police of the RA Ministry of Defence

Within the framework of the Action Plan of the National Strategy for the Protection of Human Rights, the Head of the Human Rights and Integrity building Center of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, Colonel Gevorg Martirosyan visited the Military Police of the Ministry of Defence of the RA.

The purpose of the visit was to raise awareness of servicemen about the right to life and the prohibition of torture.

The head of the Human Rights and Integrity building Center talked to the servicemen at the military police reception-distribution point, presented mechanisms for protecting rights, and answered the servicemen's questions. G. Martirosyan noted that for legal clarifications, servicemen can call the toll-free hotline number of the Ministry of Defence 1-28.

During the visit, Colonel Martirosyan presented to the MP command staff the course of organizing retraining courses for MP personnel within the framework of the Action Plan of the National Strategy for the Protection of Human Rights. The training will be carried out in cooperation with the Yerevan Office of the Council of Europe with the involvement of CE experts.
