On November 16, during the briefing with the journalists in the National Assembly, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Defence and Security Issues of the National Assembly Andranik Kocharyan made observations regarding the use of SU-30-SM aircrafts (obtained by Armenia) during the war unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh. Moreover, Mr. Kocharyan structured his speech with an obviously sarcastic tone, in particular, “reminding” that Minister of Defence David Tonoyan was “taking pictures, sitting” in the SU-s.

We consider it necessary to emphasize that the content and tone of the statement is not appropriate for a high-ranking state official. On the other hand, the solemn ceremony of receiving the mentioned aircrafts in Armenia was held under the leadership of the Prime Minister of Armenia.

As for the use of aircrafts during the recent military operations, Mr. Kocharyan is not the state official whose position would entitle him to expect to receive reports on whether SU-s were used or not, whether the combat tasks were fulfilled or not, how many flights were carried out with SU-s and other issues. We assure that all the officials who should officially receive these reports are fully informed about the answers to these questions.
