David Tonoyan received the head of the ICRC delegation in Armenia

On July 6, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia David Tonoyan received the representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Armenia led by head of the delegation Claire Meytraud.

During the meeting, the sides touched upon the current issues of the cooperation between the Ministry of Defence and delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Armenia, agenda events, as well as opportunities for increasing the efficiency of the interaction and forthcoming activities.

The interlocutors discussed issues related to the future fate of Armenian citizens Karen Ghazaryan and Ara Ghazaryan who are in the Azerbaijani captivity, highlighted the coordinated work of the ICRC Offices in Yerevan and Baku to provide regular visits and correspondence with the family members.

The sides also touched upon the issues related to revealing the fate of the persons missing as a result of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as other issues related to the coordination of the activities carried out by the commission on prisoners, hostages and missing persons of the Republic of Armenia and the International Committee of the Red Cross.

At the end of the meeting, David Tonoyan thanked the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Armenia for the support of the delegation to the efforts of the Government of the Republic of Armenia in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
