Plenary session of CIS member states’ international union of NGOs and DOSAAF Council held at Armenian Ministry of Defence

A plenary session of CIS member states’ international union of NGOs and DOSAAF Council was held at the Armenian Ministry of Defence on October 10.

Representatives of non-governmental organizations of the CIS member states, senior military officers and veterans were present at the session.

The opening remarks we made by the president of the CIS DOSAAF, Alexander Kolmakov, who underscored the necessity of further expansion of cooperation between the member states.

Welcoming the attendees and highlighting the importance of such events, Armenian Defence Minister Vigen Sargsyan said: "Such events contribute to the development of cooperation between the participating states, to the enhancing combat readiness, to the patriotic education, to the strengthening of interaction between the military and the society, as well as act as an important tool for preparing young people for military service."

At the end of the session, Armenian Defence Minister Vigen Sargsyan and President of Armenian DOSAAF Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan were awarded DOSAAF medal named after the first three-time USSR hero A. Pokryshkin.
