After hours of silence following the provocations which took place this morning, the Azerbaijani side made an official announcement, through which it attempted to shift the blame for the events that took place onto the Armenian side in characteristically absurd fashion.

We are announcing once again, that the Armenian Armed Forces are in possession of irrefutable evidence which proves that the Azerbaijani side was the aggressor. The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia has officially announced that the Azerbaijani side has taken losses during its act of aggression. Servicemen of the Republic of Armenia were killed during their service. With this in mind, assertions concerning activities carried out by an Armenian reconnaissance group and missing Azerbaijani troops are clearly ridiculous.

The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia reaffirms its position concerning the necessity of implementing international investigative mechanisms, in order to prevent similar provocations and provide for supervision of adherence to the terms of the internationally agreed-upon ceasefire.
