During the meeting, the Minister of Defense presented the current situation on the line of contact between Armenian and Azerbaijani forces, and noted that Azerbaijan has periodically raised tensions on the front line over the past several weeks, increasing the rate of fire and the caliber of weapons used. The Armed Forces of Armenia answer these provocations only if strictly necessary, remaining loyal to adopted strategy of restraint.

Ambassador Kasprchik in turn noted that the office of the personal representative of the OSCE is working to reduce tensions on the line of contact, and that progress is expected in this regard, in the near future.
