On June 3, the delegation headed by ARM Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan participated in the Council of Defense Ministers of CIS member states, which took place in the city of Cholpon-Ata of the Kyrgyz Republic.

In accordance with the agenda of the Council of Defense Ministers of CIS member states, around 20 issues of cooperation were treated upon. The 2016 joint activities for CIS member states have been predetermined, including the organization of international competitions aimed at perfecting soldiers’ basic skills (at air and sea). At the end of the session, clear decisions were adopted by the Defense Ministers of CIS member states for further intensification of multilateral cooperation. On June 4, the delegation headed by ARM Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan attended the Council of Defense Ministers of CSTO member states in Dushanbe (Republic of Tajikistan). The Council of Defense Ministers of CSTO member states was conducted in narrow and expanded formats. Throughout the session, the parties discussed the results of CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces surprise inspections, held in May, as well as several issues on further development of the CSTO military component.
