The Minister of Defense was accompanied by the Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Lieutenant- General Lyova Mnatsakanyan, Chief of ARM MoD Staff Garnik Hayrapetyan, and other senior officers. The visit aimed at observing the activities of combat readiness implemented by the personnel involved in the exercises, the performance of servicemembers, as well as the reports on task execution by commanders, staffs, and all personnel involved in the given process, in case of combat situation. Upon Major-General Ishkhan Matevosyan’s report, Minister Seyran Ohanyan made some clarifications on the issues raised and gave a set of instructions. The exercises were aimed at raising skills of the command staff and of operative reaction, working groups, commanders and military units’ personnel and divisions during defensive and counterattack fights, as well as improving methods of bringing the troops to the high level of military readiness and their prompt deployment.
