The delegation headed by the First Deputy Minister of Defense travels to Iran
26 May, 2015 00:00From May 24 to 25, the delegation headed by Davit Tonoyan, First Deputy Minister of Defense was on a business trip to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The main purpose of the visit was to clarify the development of Armenian-Iranian bilateral cooperation agenda and determine the events to be implemented.
Throughout the trip, meetings were held between the First Deputy Minister of Defense of Armenia and Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan, Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics (MODAFL) of Iran, along with his Deputy, Brigadier General Firouz Masihpour. During the meetings, the parties discussed regional and international security issues as well as latest developments with respect to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Davit Tonoyan conveyed to Hossein Dehghan ARM Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan’s invitation to Armenia. Brigadier General Dehghan accepted the invitation with delight and promised to visit Armenia this year.
The Armenian delegation also paid visits to the Malek-Ashtar University of Technology (MUT) and the ETKA Organization of Iran. During the talks at these visits, the discussants explored the opportunities for expanding Armenian-Iranian cooperation in military education, and development of collaboration in logistics, especially in supplies.
