6 May, 2015 00:00Throughout their trip to Armenia, the delegation of the Royal Norwegian Air Force Academy (RNoAFA) was received on May 5 at the Institute for National Strategic Studies (INSS).
The visit was aimed at acquainting themselves with development perspectives for the INSS’ National Defense University, implemented by the Academic Council of the US National Defense University, and exploring scientific and educational cooperation possibilities.
The delegation consisted of Lieutenant Colonel Dag Henriksen, Head of the Department of Airpower and Technology at the RNoAFA, Prof. Dr. Karl Erik Haug, Dean of Academics at the RNoAFA, William Lahue, NATO Liaison Officer to the Caucasus, and Svein Amundsen, Senior Adviser on NATO Partnership Programs, NATO Liaison Office Georgia.
The meeting was attended by the Executive Director of the Political Science Association (PSAA) Benjamin Poghosyan, Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor, Colonel Vazgen Margaryan, Deputy Head of the Institute, Colonel Armen Zakaryan, Head of the Institute’s Information Security Department, Lieutenant Colonel Gevorg Saroukhanyan, Head of the Institute’s Analytical Center of Strategic Games, Michael Avetisyan, Senior researcher-analyst of the Institute’s Analytical Center, Candidate of Historical Sciences Karen Galoyan, and Head of Cyber Security Group Arman Grigoran.
Deputy Head of INSS Benjamin Poghosyan thoroughly presented his Norwegian guests with the achievements of the institute, as well as the plan to establish the National Defense University in 2015, implemented by the Academic Council of the US National Defense University and INSS Head and political advisor to the ARM Defense Minister, Major-General Hayk Kotanjyan. The parties also discussed matters of mutual interest. The guests presented the RNoAFA’s achievements in the fields of education and research.
