The session presided by ARM Defence Minister Seyran Ohanyan was attended by all agencies involved in the management of the defence strategic review process: deputy ministers and experts, as well as high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces. The 4th stage of the defence strategic review was aimed at the endorsement of cooperation amongst the interdepartmental committee members for the development of Armenia’s military organization, as well as the identification of future objectives and the means of achieving them. Defence Minister Seyran Ohanyan extended his gratitude to the attendants for their mutual cooperation and emphasized on the importance of the defence strategic review process, especially during the current period of time. It was also noted that this process gives a unique opportunity to discern and harmonize the issues of all state agencies, in case of military aggression against the Republic of Armenia. The second defence strategic review process will be implemented before the end of 2015 and will be aimed at the development of Armenia’s long-term secure environment assessment, until 2020, based on a reliable dynamic defence system.
