On November 25 the First Deputy Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Davit Tonoyan met with the diplomats and military representatives of foreign states accredited in Armenia.

The topics of the meeting were developments concerning November 12 shooting down of the helicopter by Azerbaijani troops and the fate of its crew. Mr. D.Tonoyan presented the details of the special operation conducted by NKR Defence Army units aimed at recovery of the aircrew bodies from the impact point, as well as undeniable facts proving the validity of such an operation by Armenian side. The first deputy Minister of Defence expressed his deep regret at obstacles, created in Azerbaijan, to the intermediary activities of international community, which doomed the efforts to find a way out of the deadlock established around the shot down helicopter. Mr. Tonoyan added that the disinformation spread by Azerbaijan’s MoD and denial of the Special Operation are yet another vivid examples of infringement on International Humanitarian Law and a sacrilege over a fallen adversary. The misinformation campaign unleashed on this matter in Azerbaijan is nothing else but cover-up for Azerbaijani armed forces in their inability to perform the tasks set by the political leadership. It should be also mentioned that Davit Tonoyan had previously given information of the same content to the Head of the ICRC Delegation to Armenia.
