The manual of patriotism has been published
1 November, 2014 00:00Today, in the central office of the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union (YVU) a presentation was held dedicated to upbringing events and the formation of “Young defenders” clubs within public schools during the academic year of 2014-2015.
Before the presentation, RA Ministers of Defence and, Education and Science, Seyran Ohanyan and Armen Ashotyan, and Chairman of YVU Manvel Grigoryan put flowers in front of the statue of Vazgen Sargsyan, visited the YVU museum, acquainted themselves with the combat history of the 5th brigade and attended the exhibits.
YVU member Vardan Devrikyan welcomed the attendees and noted that the publication of the manual of patriotism resulted from the memorandum of understanding between the RA Ministries of Defence and, Education and Science, as well as the YVU, signed on September 9. Within the framework of the memorandum, the parties undertook the responsibility of promoting the patriotic education of students in secondary educational institutions and elaborating a list and schedule of events for every academic year, aimed at achieving the patriotic upbringing. According to the memorandum, “Young defenders” clubs will be established in all secondary schools.
During the event, RA MoD Chief of Information and Public Relations department, Vardan Avetisyan briefly presented the content of the manual, a list of scheduled events, as well as their tasks and objectives.
RA Defence Minister Seyran Ohanyan congratulated the participants on the occasion of the presentation of the manual of patriotism and emphasized on the importance of appreciating and indebting ourselves to the courage of those heroes who have brought victory to our nation, for our bright future may only be created through the appreciation and evaluation of our past. The Defence Minister believes that through this patriotic manual, the appreciation and commemoration of past events will become a part of the school curriculum.
