The meeting was attended by the acting Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, Acting Health Care Minister DerenikDumanyan, the ARM Chief Inspector, Colonel-General MikayelHarutyunyan as well as senior military representatives of health care sector. In his speech, Acting Health Care Minister DerenikDumanyan noted thatthanks to the exercisestheoretical knowledge and practical skills of the staff of the medical centerwere enhanced. He also emphasized that allmedical facilities should be ready to run as military hospitals in case of a potential war situation and perform given tasks. The ARM Chief Military Inspector Colonel-General MikayelHarutyunyanintroduced the tasks and features of the exercises and assessed the results of the exercises as satisfactory in general. He also emphasized that the medical center is capable of expandingin due time as a rear hospital under the ARM Ministry of Defense. At the same timeMikayelHarutyunyan publicized shorfallsrecorded throughout the exercises. Welcoming the guests and greeting the personnel involved in the exercises for their active participation, acting Defense Minister SeyranOhanyanaprricated such events in terms of experience exchange and assured that tasksset in theexercises were performed at a high level. S.Ohanian also noted that at the end of the exercises a common model was formed to be used in other medical institutions in the near future. Concluding his speech, SeyranOhanyan expressed hope that as a result of consistent work of the two agencies - the Ministries of Health and Defense, all shortcomings recorded throughout the exercises will be eliminated in the near future. In this regard, a number of proposals were made by representatives of both parties. The meeting was concluded with an awarding ceremony where regular military ranks and diplomas were awardedtoparticipants and reserve officers of medical services by the Ministers of Defence and HealthCare. The purpose of the tactical expertise demonstrative exercises, held atArarat Medical Center on February 25, was to test the viability of the plan to bring health facilities to various degrees of readiness for the purpose of its deployment as a military hospital and transfer under the Ministry of Defense in case of a possible war.
