Discussion on the further enhancement issues of the Joint Air Defence

On April 9, a regular session of the Coordinating Committee for the issues of air defence of the Council of Defense Ministers of CIS member states was held at the administrative complex of the ARM MoD.

The session was attended by delegations from the Ministries of Defense of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russian Federation, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. In accordance to the plan of the session, the sides discussed issues of further development of the unified air defense system, the task of strengthening bilateral and multilateral military cooperation in the sphere of air defense of CIS countries, as well as the integration and improvement of CIS air defense system. Within the frame of the session, the results of the Coordination Committee and its working groups in 2013 were also summarized, the participants endorsed the proposals for the joint operational and combat training of the CIS united air defense system in 2014. After the session, the bilateral meetings of the heads of delegations of the armed forces, during which they discussed issues of operational and combat training, military-technical cooperation, as well as coordination and preparation for signing the drafts of intergovernmental agreements on joint air defense systems in the collective security regions of Caucasus and Central Asian.
