During the interagency committee session, the results of the first phase of the review process were evaluated as well as the document on threat assessment and security situation of the Republic of Armenia was agreed. All the possible threats against the military component of the ARM National Security as well as their current probability, the change of course, the impact on county`s interests and counter-reaction capacities, were evaluated in the document. The threat assessment document will serve as a foundation for the strategic planning considerations and development of the military strategic scenarios of the next phase of the strategic defence review, launched during the session. The interagency committee coordinating the process of the ARM strategic defence review consists of all the governmental agencies on the vice-ministerial level, concerned over the issues of the ARM security and defence. The committee is co-chaired by the ARM Minister of Defence Seyran Ohanyan and the ARM Secretary of the National Security Council Artur Baghdasaryan. Defence Minister Seyran Ohanyan summarized the results of the session and expressed his gratitude to all the agencies for the active participation in this initiative of national significance, assuring that the existing high level of inter-agency cooperation will also continue throughout the other stages of the strategic defence review. The second review of the strategic defence will be carried out untill the of 2015, and will focus on ensuring the prospective development of the dynamic system of defence and security untill 2020, based on the long-term assessment of the security environment surrounding the Republic of Armenia.
