Since the agreement on the Russian military base entered into force, in the military base`s location distribution list the deployed locations of the base have been changed for several times, due to the changes of the tasks of enhancing the security of the Republic of Armenia. In particular, in the near future the plan is to provide a number of unused strategic areas by the Armenian Armed Forces to the Russian side for temporal use, for the modernization of the Russian air base located in Erebuni airport, and for the recruitment of the new armaments (parking spot for the helicopter squadron, areas for the administrative support and fuel-use buildings). On October 21, ARM Government has approved the signing of the agreement prepared for this project. For clarification, it should be noted that, apart from the "Transferred territories for temporary use", there are also areas with the status of "Joint use" (e.g . the runway), which legally regulate the conditions of the simultaneous use of that areas for the Armenian and the Russian sides.
