From 4 to 7 November a number of events have been organised in the framework of the 2013 action plan with the participation of foreign resident and non-resident military attachés accredited to the Republic of Armenia.

Notably,the events were attended by military attachés of the USA, Austria, Germany, Iran, Latvia, Poland, Lithuania, Greece, Kazakhstan, Great Britain, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, China, Romania, Russia, Georgia, Ukraine and France accredited to the Republic of Armenia. During the week the group of military attachés, accompanied by officers of the Armed Forces of Armenia, attended ceremonies dedicated to the formation of the intelligence services of the Armed Forces of Armenia, celebrated on 5 November.On the next day the group visited one of the military compounds located at the North-Eastern border of Armenia. The beginning of the visit to the borderline military compound of the Republic was marked by abriefing about the military compound by Deputy Commander, Lieutenant-Colonel Khachatryan, followed by a question-and-answer session with the guests. The meeting was also attended by leaders of borderline rural communities of the region, who presented the issues of concern of the people living in borderline villages and responded to the questions of the guests.In the course of the visit the military attachés also had the opportunity to visit border checkpoints, inspect the living conditions of servicemen holding tactical shifts across the front line, as well as speak with them. The next day, on 7 November the visit continued in one of the military compounds ofthe2nd Army Corps during which the Commander of the compound, Lieutenant-Colonel Sargsyan briefed the visitors about the compound, followed by a guided tour of the grounds. On the same a day a review of the results of the 4-dayvisit was carried out during a meeting with First Deputy Minister of Defence David Tonoyan at the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia.The military attachés shared their impressions with David Tonoyan. The guests were informed about the implementation of current defence reforms, the assessments of the Armenian political and military leadership concerning latest regional developments, as well asthe preparations for the second cycle of the Strategic Defence Review process. A question-and-answer session with the guests followed. At the end of the visit the guests thanked the leadership of the Armenian Ministry of Defence for organising an interesting and busy programme.
