Participants of the conference entitled "Ahead of the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide" received at the administrative building of ARM MoD

On September 19, Defence Minister Seyran Ohanyan had a meeting with the participants of the conference entitled "Ahead of the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide", at the administrative building of the Ministry of Defence. The representatives of the institutions dealing with the awareness of the Armenian problems were present.

Along with the participants, conference was attended by ARM Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan, First Deputy Defence Minister Davit Tonoyan and other high-ranking officials. In his opening remarks, the Head of Department of Information and Public Affairs of ARM MoD Mr. Vardan Avetisyan noted that the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide represents a big opportunity for broader presentation of the fair demands of the Republic of Armenia to the International Community and formation of strong pressure on international public opinion. Welcoming the participants, ARM Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan emphasized the cooperation with the Ministry of Defence and highlighted the role of the army in our society. In his remarks, ARM Defence Minister Seyran Ohanyan highly praised the contribution of the participants and the representatives of the Armenian Church, respective institutions of the Armenian traditional political parties, Armenian General Benevolent Union, Armenian National Committee and Armenian Office in United States, as well as representatives of other institutions of Diaspora, in raising awareness and recognition of the Armenian Genocide. During the meeting, ARM Defence Minister Seyran Ohanyan answered to the questions of participants of the conference, relating to the ongoing reforms in the Armenian Armed Forces, regional issues and the prospects of cooperation with institutions of the Armenian Diaspora.
