Members of Government of the Republic of Armenia led by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan attended the shooting practice of the drills. The ministers’ observed the process of overcoming the psychological obstacle course and successfully accomplished all obstacles of the course. The psychological obstacle course was set up as a means of increasing the level of psychological preparedness of servicemen of the Armenian Armed Forces. Soldiers from military units of Special Forces demonstrated their arsenal of professional combat skills at the military training camp. The heads of government agencies fired from firearm weapons at the shooting range of the military training camp. It was then followed by the shooting practice phase of the regimental live-firing tactical exercise of the “Reponse-2013” drills. The shooting practice phase of the tactical exercise was preceded by a demonstration of weaponry and armament employed by the Armenian Armed Forces, the National Security Service, the Internal Troops and the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The end of the shooting practice phase of the regimental live-firing tactical exercise was marked by an official award ceremony of participants of the “Response-2013” strategic Command Post training exercise. The awards were presented by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, members of Government, the Minister of Defence Seyran Ohanyan and Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, Colonel-General Yuri Khatchaturov. On October 9, a partial review of the results of the “Response-2013” strategic Command Post drills took place at the administrative building of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia. In his speech, the Minister of Defence Seyran Ohanyan noted with satisfaction, that despite certain drawbacks, the “Response-2013” drill was conducted in a more interesting and lively atmosphere in comparison to previous similar strategic Command Post trainings. The event allowed for the combination of practical skills with regimental live-firing tactical exercises. The Minister stressed the importance of improving the defence system of the Republic, as well as the accurate and efficient decision-making by the heads of government agencies, according to the political and military situation. From 7 to 9 October “Response-2013" strategic Command Post drills on the subject of “The input of State high officials during political and military decision-making” were organised with Government and Army officials, in accordance with the development plan of the Armenian Armed Forces. Within the framework of the project, a political and military decision-making process in case of aggravation of the situation was simulated during the “Response-2013” strategic Command Post drills. An enemy aggression beat back and counter-attack action plan in the first stages of rising of tensions was also simulated during the training.
