The team of the ARM MoD Military Academy after M. Melqonyan participated in the international military-athletic gathering

From September 10 to 22, by the order of the ARM Defence Minister, a team of the ARM MoD Military Academy after M. Melqonyan, led by Chief of the Academy, Colonel V. V. Voskanyan, took on a trip to Odessa, Ukraine, to participate in the ``Union-2013: Victory heirs`` international youth educational military-athletic gathering.

Ghazarian The gathering was also attended by other delegations from various countries including, 9 from Russian Federation, 10 from Ukraine, as well as a delegation from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Transdniestrian Moldovan Republic. Competitions were conducted in the following sports: ``Snipers` duel``, ``Knife throwing``, ``Spy path``, ``Strength testing``, ``Wall to wall``, ``Parade drill``, ``Paddling``, ``Running 3km, with a weapon``, ``Paintball``, ``1st aid and overcoming barriers``, ``Fencing`` and ``Diplomatic games``. During the gathering, international group teams were formed with a representative from each delegation, by taking the example of soldiers from various nationalities who fought side by side in the Great Patriotic War. During the gathering, as pointed out by organizers, adacemy`s team has shown high levels of commitment, and was rewarded with 12 gold, 12 silver and 12 bronze medals, as well as certificates and valuable gifts. In the gathering, academy`s team also showed cultural performances including singing, dancing and history, taking the 1st honourable position. Since the 1st day of the gathering, benefactors Ruslan K. Nersisyan and Lev G. Melqumyan (of Armenian descent) supported the team members within the frame of the event and awarded all the members with valuable gifts, which was a pleasant surprise for the academy students.
