The opening ceremony was attended by Defence Minister Seyran Ohanyan, First Deputy Defense Minister David Tonoyan, members of NATOs ,,Defence Education Enhancement Program,, team supporting ARM MoD in military educational reforms, the military attaché to the Embassy of the Russian Federation, and representatives of the ARM Ministry of Education and Science as well as civilian educational institutions. With start of the command staff course as a focal point for ARM military education reforms, professional military training and education of Armenian AF personnel moves to yet another qualitative level, with further honing of knowledge and skills obtained in military academies and later in professional development center, thus ensuring senior officers competencies in combined-arms, joint, comprehensive (interagency) and multinational operating settings, with concurrent masters qualification in military management. Addressing freshmen of the new course - an important milestone for the formation of future leaders of the ARM Armed Forces, Defence Minister Seyran Ohanyan Encouraged them to demonstrate such attributes of competence, commitment and character which are expected of them by Armenian people, military and political leadership, commanders, peers and subordinates.
