Russian military delegation at the ARM Ministry of Defense

On January 29 Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan met with his Russian counterpart Sergey Shoygu at the Ministry of Defense. After the official welcoming ceremony at the administrative complex of MoD the military delegations of both countries had an enlarged meeting followed by both ministers’ joint press conference and meeting with journalists.

S.Ohanyan informed that during the meeting they discussed issues of international and regional security, military and military-technical cooperation and Russian base in located in Armenia. He also expressed confidence that the visit of the Russian delegation will spur the development of Armenian-Russian allied relations in the defense sector and will foster the regional friendship, cordial neighbourly relations and the strengtheningstability andsecurity. S.Shoygu congratulated the Armenian people on the 21st anniversary ofthe Armenian Army and noted that agreements were reached to enhance the strategic partnership in defense and military-technical fields and reminded that previous agreements were successfully implemented. The delegation headed by Defense Minister Shoygu also visited the memorial complex of Tsitsernakaberd to pay tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
