The Visit of the Delegation Headed by the Defense Minister of Italy to Armenia

The delegation headed by Giampaolo di Paola, Minister of Defense of Italy is in Armenia on a three-day official visit.

On October 17, after the welcoming ceremony held for the delegation, Giampaolo di Paola was met by Seyran Ohanyan and the senior staff of the Defense Ministry and General Staff of the ARM Armed Forces. At the meeting the parties highlighted theimportance of deeper cooperation in military education, militaryindustry and other fields of mutual interest. The Ministers signed an agreement on behalf of the governments of the two countries on the cooperation in the defense sector establishing a legal basis for the bilateral cooperation. The agreement implies cooperation in the defense and security policy, management and organization of the armed forces, military medicine, military industry, peacekeeping and humanitarian operations etc. Within the framework of the visit, the Italian Minister visited the Military Institute after V. Sargsyan and was introduced to educational programs and training process. Giampaolo di Paola also paid a visit to Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute.
