Armenian Peacekeepers Shared Their Unique Experience and Skills with Our CSTO Partners

The ``Unbreakable Brotherhood 2012’’ first peacekeeping military exercise of the CSTO at Iliyski military training ground near Almaty, Kazakhstan ended on October 17.

The exercises focused on the preparation and implementation of peace keeping tasks by collective forces within the collective security region and were conducted in accordance with the joint action plan 2012 of operational and combat readiness of collective forces management. The scenario included certain measures to separate the conflicting sides and ensure the compliance with the cease fire. Armenian peacekeepers shared their unique experience and skills with the CSTO Partners obtained during NATO-led multinational peacekeeping operations under UN auspices. According to senior officials of the CSTO, Armenian troops proved them selveshighly professional and prepared to handle all the tasks. In total about 950 troops were taking part in the drills, with 70 pieces of automobile and 35 pieces of armored vehicle, and 4 MI -17 aircrafts.The Armenian peacekeeping unit was composed of 30 peacekeepers.
