The Visit of the Delegation Headed by the Minister of Defense to Brussels

The delegation headed by Seyran Ohanyan, Minister of Defense was on a working visit in Brussels from October 9-11.

The main objective of the visit was to take part in the regular meeting of NATO Defense Ministers with non-NATO ISAF and KFOR contributing Nations Defense Ministers at NATO Headquarters. During the sessions the Ministers were briefed on the current missions of ISAF and KFOR and discussed the outline of the future operations and objectives of the missions. In the scope of the visit Seyran Ohanyan had a private meeting with James G. Stavridis, NATO`s former Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) where the parties exchanged opinions on NATO-Armenia cooperation in defence sector, participation of Armenian troops in NATO-led peacekeeping operations and issues of regional security. During his stay in Brussels Seyran Ohanyan also met with several senior officials of the EU and European Parliament and had discussions on issues of Nagorno Karabagh conflict settlement and EU-Armenia cooperation.
