Kansas State Senate hails the cooperation between the Kansas National Guard and the Armed Forces of Armenia

On April 3 the Kansas State Senate unanimously adopted a resolution commemorating the 10th anniversary of the partnership between Armenia and Kansas.

The resolution rendered high appraisal to the cooperation between the Armenian Armed Forces and the Kansas National Guard for the past ten years and to all efforts of the political and military leadership of the Republic of Armenia to enhance this cooperation. It also acknowledges the contribution of Armenian peacekeepers to the security and stability in Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Armenia-Kansas State partnership program was launched in 2003 and the cooperation between the the Kansas National Guard and the Republic of Armenia has been carried out mainly in the following areas: demining, formation of the professional NCO corps, military medicine, military justice and assistance to the Peacekeeping Brigade to get ready for assessment under NATO`s Operational Capabilities Concept. Within the framework of the State partnership program Kansas cooperates with Armenia in other areas as well including healthcare, agriculture, legislation and law enforcement, emergency management and others. On the initiative of the Ministry of Defense the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Armenia-Kansas State partnership program will be held in Armenia in 2013, to which are invited the Adjutant General of the National Guard and the Governor of Kansas.
