The visit of experts from United States and Great Britain

From March 18 to 22, the joint advisory group of experts from United States and Great Britain assisting reforms on human resources management in the Armed Forces were in Armenia.

During the visit the advisory group had5-day discussion with the working group of the Ministry of Defence responsible for reforms on human resources management in the armed forces. Parties exchanged views on the recorded progress in this area of defence,putting a particular emphasis on professional NCO corps development within the seargant staff. Armenian specialists were given valuable consultation regarding reforms in different areas, including recruitment of non-commissioned officers seargants in various levels of the army structure,their training, qualification and social security as well as distribution of roles, functions and the responsibilities between non-commissioned and commisioned officers. International experts also visited the NCO school of the Ministry of Defence where they not only were introduced to educational processes, but also delivered their own lectures and answered to questions of the audience. Discussions were concluded in the final meeting with First Deputy Defense Minister David Tonoyan where the parties presented their findings based on the results of the visit, and agreed upon further ways and means of international consultations in this key sector of defence structure. Deputy Minister David Tonoyan expressed his satisfaction with the work done,emphasizing the importance of human resource management and human factor for effective implementation of defence reforms.
