On April 30, ARM Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan hosted the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to Armenia Seyed Ali Saghaeyan due to the ending of his diplomatic mission in Armenia.

During the meeting the parties highly appreciated current relations in different sectors and noted they have carried out multiple projects and look forward to expanding the existing cooperation. They also touched upon regional issues and talked about general approaches regarding the regional security perception, as well as the ways of solving current regional conflicts and the positions of the parties towards these ways. ARM Defense Minister thanked the ambassador for his contribution towards the development and enhancement of bilateral cooperation. Ambassador Seyed Ali Saghaeyan noted that Armenian-Iranian strategic relations derive not only from the political will of the leaders of the two countries, but also from the historical and cultural commonality of our peoples. Seyran Ohanyan wished him success in his further diplomatic activity and expressed hope that the ambassador will continue to contribute to the strengthening of the bilateral friendly relations.
